ProvPlan's programs focus on helping families in need to get a leg up on the road to economic self-sufficiency and break the cycle of poverty.
In practice, this means preparing children to get the most out of their educations and working with adults to get the training they need to find meaningful careers.
New Roots
New Roots helps nonprofit organizations improve their ability to provide services to those in need. We build the capacity of Rhode Island’s nonprofit sector through three primary mechanisms: grants, technical assistance, and high quality trainings.
Our capacity building grants infuse critical capacity-building resources into the nonprofit sector. Our current Request for Proposals can be found at www.newrootsprovidence.org, and is due February 7th. Thousands of hours of one-on-one technical assistance from New Roots staff and consultants help to build the skills of our grantees’ staff, executives, and Board members.
New Roots' training series is open to organizations throughout the state (whether or not they are our grantees), providing nonprofits with powerful insights into fundraising, leadership development, strategic planning, and financial management.
Many of Rhode Island’s small nonprofit organizations possess great vision and leadership. New Roots’ mission is to ensure the individuals that make up these agencies have the skills and resources that can turn passion and ideas into action.
