ProvPlan functions as a data intermediary - helping policymakers and residents access public information that can be used to drive community improvement.
Census Resources
ProvPlan Information Group staff do extensive work with US Census data for Rhode Island. Our Community Profiles site currently under development will be our primary Census data platform, replacing the old Neighborhood Profiles. In the meantime we have published a number of interactive data graphics based on the 2010 redistricting data:
- By Neighborhood
- By Providence City Ward
- Map of how neighborhood and ward boundaries relate
- By Rhode Island Legislative Districts
- By Rhode Island Municipalities
Unraveling the Census
In partnership with the RIGIS Executive Committee Census Working Group and RI Statewide Planning we have also put together some introductory technical information for census data users (geared particularly for the Rhode Island GiS community):
- Census Tip Sheet (a concise primer)
- Census Resource Sheets (slightly more in-depth guide to Census releases)
The current documents are works in progress and will be expanded and improved over time.
